A quick emergence from my hiatus to forward any interested to my comment over here on the Namibian elections, which were held yesterday and are continuing through today. Results should be known Thursday.

I'm predicting the continuation of the ruling party's 2/3rds majority. People here are too deathly afraid of change, the largest opposition party has diminished due to a band of members splitting off and forming the Republican Party, and in general, I just get a feeling of apathy. People are content with the way things are. By people, of course, I mean the majority - the minorities of this country (read:whites) are, of course, not all that happy with the exhorbitant taxes, land expropriations, crime etc.
